Ingredients how to make the strawberry shortcake:


  • Non-stick vegetable spray, to grease the cake pans
  • ½ 1 cup cake flour
  • ½ 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ 1 cup sugar
  • 2 fresh strawberries
  • Whipped cream frosting:
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


How to make strawberry shortcake:


1- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and set a rack in the middle of the oven. Spread 2 (9 inches) cake pans with vegetable spray. Line the bottom of each tray with a circular piece of parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, bread, and salt together, 3 times. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat, then add the vanilla and lemon extract to it.

3. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the eggs and the sugar until the mixture is pale yellow, smooth, and until it doubles in size.

4. While whisking, add the hot milk mixture. Add the flour mixture while stirring. Spread the mixture on the prepared cake molds and bake for 15 minutes, or until it becomes golden, and until the center of the cake comes back when gently pressed with a finger, and until you test the cake's maturity with the toothpicks and it comes out clean. Place the molds on cooling racks to allow them to cool. Slide the tip of a knife around the sides of the cake to make it easier to slide out of the cake pan.

5. For the whipped cream: In a medium bowl, mix gelatin with a cup of cream. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then place the bowl over hot water until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Take the pot off the stove and let it cool down until lukewarm.

6- During this time, in a mixing bowl, whisk the cream until a little thick. Add sugar and vanilla, then mix until the consistency is smooth.

7. Pour a cup of the whipped cream into the gelatin mixture, then add the rest and continue whisking.

8. Wash the strawberries and dry them. Choose the best 12 grains, then remove the stems of the remaining kernels and slice them. Place strawberry slices on top of a cake pan, then spread an inch thick layer of the whipped cream over it. Put another cake mold on top of the cream. Spread the remaining frosting whipped cream over the entire cake. Garnish the face with whole strawberries.
