This kitchen is characterized by its sharing with the Arab kitchen in many ingredients, for example in vegetables, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumber, peas, and colored bell peppers. But it does not dispense with the ingredients that add its special flavors, such as soybeans, tofu, and others. 

Soy sauce is the most distinctive ingredient in this kitchen at all, as it is included in most meals and has a sweet and sour flavor at the same time.

Canton Chicken Ingredients


  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and chopped in a medium size
  • 2 carrots, sliced ​​in a circle
  • 5 green peppers, chopped colors the same size as the chicken
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Pinch of the following spices (salt, black pepper, chicken spices, paprika, ginger)
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • Lemon bean
  • 1/2 cup olive oil for cleaning chicken
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • To make the sauce, we need the following ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon of starch powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar


Canton chicken method


  1. The cut chicken pieces are placed in a marinade consisting of olive oil, lemon, and salt for a period of time to ensure the cleanliness of the chicken.
  2. After washing the chicken well, dip it in a mixture of seasoned flour with salt, chicken spices, paprika, and black pepper until completely covered.
  3. In warm gizzard oil, fry over high heat for three minutes, then reduce the heat until soft and the color turns golden.
  4. In a deep frying pan, put a little oil, stir in them all the vegetable ingredients for five minutes, then add the chicken and mix well.
  5. Add the sauce ingredients in the same pan with a cup of water.
  6. Finally, add the cup of water that contains the starch and stir until the mixture is thick.
  7. Place in a serving dish and garnish with onion, lemon, or celery, according to availability, and serve with rice.


Canton Chicken Cashew

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of cornmeal
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 cup of peas
  • 1/2 cup red pepper
  • salt and pepper as needed


How to make Canton chicken with cashew nuts


1- In a deep bowl, mix a tablespoon of soy sauce and vinegar, half a cup of orange juice, and a tablespoon of brown sugar with two tablespoons of cornmeal until homogeneity.

2- In a deep and wide frying pan, put the oil until it is heated, then fry the cashews until golden and take it out on a side dish.

3- Repeat the process with the chopped onion.

4- The same process, repeat with the chicken until its color changes, then add broccoli, peas, and red pepper until done. Then add salt and black pepper to taste.

5- Pour the sauce over the mixture and mix them well, then let the onions and cashews leave it all over the heat for two minutes, then place it on a serving plate. It is best served with rice and salad.
